About Data Analytics at SRG

The Data Analytics team is a key part of the SRG Platform, supporting all business areas in providing insightful reporting, direction on data strategy, and system development. With our insightful reports, we help the business monitor their performance, identify gaps in its processes and drive increased revenue through opportunity analysis.

Through our extensive knowledge of data and reporting, we provide unique perspectives on a variety of projects, including system development and process improvement, helping make sure that future analysis can meet the business’ requirements and showcasing what can be achieved above and beyond initial requirements.

 

About the Role

This is an exciting, newly created position, which has been established to provide integral support to one of our key business units. It is an excellent opportunity for the successful candidate to further develop their analytical skills and broaden their knowledge of the insurance market, as part of a successful team in an expanding Group.


This role will be focused on supporting the retail business unit (Specialist Risk Insurance Solutions - SRIS) in developing key insights to drive operational efficiencies and find avenues for increased revenue opportunities. The successful candidate will be required to report directly to senior management within the business unit as well as working with our operational department on various projects.

 

Key Responsibilities
  • Extracting, manipulating and transforming data from a variety of data sources (e.g. SQL Server, Excel
    and API's)
  •  Create informative reports for key stakeholders on a variety of subjects
  • Get involved in supporting key projects across the group
  • Provide support and direction for system configuration changes to drive more efficient and insightful
    reporting
  • Provide key support in the integration of recent acquisitions to the retail business unit
  • Take ownership of data integrity reporting for SRIS
  • Participate in the ongoing automation of reporting
  • Help support upkeep of our data dictionary
  • Aid in creation of process documentation
 
About you

Must have: 

  • You will be competent at using an ETL tool and/or have advanced skills in SQL or equivalent
  • You will be a confident written and verbal communicator with the ability to build relationships with
    internal stakeholders
  • You will have a keen eye for detail
  • You will have the ability to create reports that are pleasing to the eye

Preferable: 

  • You will have a good level of working knowledge of the insurance industry. Preferably at a
    retail/wholesale broker
  • You will have at least a basic knowledge of creating Power BI reports or using an equivalent
    visualisation product
